A Moment Of Self-Reflection

Wow, 2020 has been something else eh.

Like most of you, I came into this year with an abundance of confidence, motivation, and, most of all, a healthy amount of optimism. But a pandemic really has a way of testing one’s resolve.

Like most people out there, I believe in doing what I can to help our communities and our fellow local businesses, but I find myself struggling to find a way that I can use my platform to help. Believe me when I say I have spent an unhealthy amount of time dwelling on this over the past week, but what could I offer to you a local retail store, our local farmers, service/tradespeople, and all the mom and pop shops out there … after all I run a small web design company. So instead I have decided to share my own concerns, thoughts, and optimism that I still have in hopes that maybe it might help at least one person.

Finding The Path Forward

First, all of us should know that we are not alone in this, there are so many of us, small local businesses, people that are doing our best to find ways to keep the lights on, how to keep our team safe, keep our clients safe, and do our part to help our communities whether this storm either professionally or personally.

During difficult times it is always easier to turn inward, focusing solely on the negative. As business owners, leaders we don’t have that luxury … our teams are relying on us to forge the path forward. So instead of turning inward, we should take this opportunity to evaluate our strengths and recognize our weaknesses, and that’s what I have done.

The New Economy

We have known for some time now that the digital shift was coming and if we can see anything during this time of uncertainty, it is the companies that have adopted some form of digital extension of their brick and mortar have been able to somewhat adapt to the current environment.

Now I am not pointing fingers or saying anyone who hasn’t made the switch had it coming, I am simply recognizing the advantage that digital environments have provided to some.

See Pixel is in the same boat as many of you out there. Even though we are a digital agency we are also part of the service industry. This means that we rely on the very things that social distancing has made almost impossible. But as I have alluded to before, it is time to forge a path forward.

Working With What We Have

As hard as it is to remember sometimes, we do need to remember this will not last forever. For some of us, this may be a time to build a strategy for moving forward, take the lessons that we will no doubt receive during this time of economic uncertainty. If you are in the position you may want to take this time to look at different digital options that you could apply in the future. There are lots of tools that we can use from social media or delivery services.

We Are In This Together

At the end of the day, we need to support each other because a strong community lifts up our local businesses. So with that in mind, we are committed to you … to our community. For those of you looking to forge their path forward, we are here for you. We will be offering free … yes, free audits of your digital footprint and offer some strategies that may help you on your journey through this difficult time.

Stay safe and healthy and most of all be there for one another.
